Vladimír Lukáč, chairman of the Board of Directors of the EZOP-TRADING company was granted the 2007 Entrepreneur award for innovations and Martin Starzyk, the founder and partner of the PolyStar company, was granted the 2007 Starting Entrepreneur award in the Slovak Republic.

I am truly honoured to receive the award Entrepreneur of the Year. But this award does not belong to me only. The happiness of the people around me but also trust and pride as concerns the results of our joint work helped get us here. It will be both a stimulation and commitment for all of us to keep on improving“, said Miroslav Trnovský, the winner of the 2007 Entrepreneur award of the Slovak Republic.

Miroslav Trnka, chairman of the jury and winner of the first year of the Entrepreneur of 2006 competition, commented about the jury's decision with the following words: „The Entrepreneur of the Year competition is not about numbers. We emphasized the ability to find and implement a successful business model and the entrepreneurial spirit and personality of each candidate. The business story of Miroslav Trnovský and the company that he has successfully built represents admirable attributes especially because he started his entrepreneurial activities at the age when many start thinking about their pension.

Miroslav Trnovský (74), graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, majoring in water management structures, at the University in Žilina. With a partner founded the SkyBau spol. s r.o. company in Germany where they employed almost 100 people as of the end of 1992. In 1996 they started their activities in the Czech Republic. The SkyBau company entered Slovakia in August 2002 through the delivery of the skeleton of the Millenium Tower II., an office building situated within the POLUS Bratislava shopping centre. Currently, in addition to the construction of office and residential buildings the company also carries out demanding projects involving ferroconcrete base plate, and lower and upper parts of the largest complex in Bratislava - EUROVEA situated on the bank of the Danube River. “After years of working for Váhostav I decided to leave and as a 57 years old man I went to work in Passau where I performed ancillary works within the reconstruction of a several hundred year old buildings situated within the pedestrian zone. The idea to become a producer and supplier of ferroconcrete structures for civil engineering projects was born there and it was this idea that has helped us get here,” added Miroslav Trnovský.
